IQpack consulted on a new cabinet door pack design for a top three cabinet manufacturing company in North America. The packaging optimization project required evaluation of current state pack design and operations. Two areas of focus for the project included damage and shipping cost reduction.

IQpack’s proprietary cabinet door pack received ISTA testing over the course of three months. During that time, packchain simulated shipping costs related to previous order history and contractual agreements.

Based on both sets of findings, the IQpack door pack design was selected among competing designs.

Once the contract was awarded, IQpack designed a one-piece workflow integrated with the cabinet manufacturer’s Packsize machines. Order throughput increased, damages reduced 89%, and shipping costs fell $700k. Corrugated spend also dropped 24% from the efficient pack design, leading to $2.1M in year-one packaging optimization savings.
